Jones Beach Concert Review
by Pat

The weather was perfect. This was the first time I left the rain ponchos home, and only carried my pocketbook, giving me an almost naked feeling. The trip to the venue was bumper to bumper and stop and go at some points. The Belt Parkway is not exactly my cup of tea, but the destination was all that mattered to me.
When we got there, we saw some familiar faces. It was nice hearing the DJ announce Dave and Colette's names. We haven't met yet, but I have seen their posts on the web. When we were escorted to our seats, my row b actually turned out to be front row, consisting of only two seats!!! It was like a private concert to us.
I was right in front of Tracy, and had a very good view, except when the video man was working in front of me, but I managed to look around him. The setlist was the same, but the concert was excellent as usual. Some of the highlights were: when John was bouncing around the stage and he looked into the audience and recognized us. He gave us big smiles whenever he came over our way. (We had Natural Avenue signed by him the night before.) The band was in very good spirits, and they seemed to be laughing and joking around with each other. The drumstick toss went over well, and during Question, Graeme held his drumsticks up in front of Gordon as if he was keeping a vampire away.
When the band played The Story in Your Eyes, and did the Dino Shuffle, they stopped right in front of me! I looked up and let out a "Whhhooooo" and I made Justin laugh. John gave us a smile, wink and said,"Hello" to us. Then he told Ray to hold out his tambourine, and he tapped it twice with his index finger. We all laughed.
During Legend of a Mind, I couldn't see, so I changed seats, and had a perfect view. I was totally mesmerized!
Right before the encore of Ride My See Saw, there were men behind us banging on their seats and yelling, "One More!"
What a magical night!
